Iwas fortunate to grow up in a golden era for speedway, the person thatput the final polish on that era was Ivan, a totally professional, determined rider. He also cared about giving the paying fans value for money through his "pride in performance", never turned up to a meeting "nearly ready to race", or having just done enough to be competitive, a true role model to those who follow him in the sport and will be sadly missed. My heartfelt sympathy and condolences to his family in this time of great sadness for them.
