I met Ivan Mauger at the Speedway Riders Reunion Dinner when Ivan was president of the WSRA. I got to chat to him while he signed my programme. I have never seen him ride but heard lots of stories from my husband Tony about him. What I remember from that one occasion is that he had a beautiful smile; that he was apparently an amazing rider (which is borne out with all his trophies of victory) and that he was unaffected with perfect manners. So in a word ..... a LEGEND, not just in speedway but in Life. RIP Ivan.
