My dad used to take me to the Boulevard as a kid in the 70's, where we had the privilege to watch Ivan every Wednesday evening. My dad used to say that Ivan was so good he could have raced with one hand on the bars whilst eating his sandwiches with the other! The other thing was that all the kids at school new who Ivan Mauger was, he was up there with Barry Sheene and George Best. Without doubt the greatest speedway rider ever, and always will be. Condolences to Ivan's family. RIP great man.
